Okay! This guide that is going to be about how to get sims 4 expansions for free. But seriously, lets face it. Is there anything in the world that is free? Obviously not.
How are we supposed to play with the expansions in this mundane cruel world where you can’t even pirate it because trojans and viruses would invade your computer?
Yes! That is what this guide is going to be about. I got many requests from fellow simmers to show them the pros and cons of getting Sims 4 at a low price, thus I am writing this guide.
Steps to get sims 4 expansions for cheap
- Pirate it (Not recommended I will explain why)
- Wait until Epic store does a free giveaway (Uhhhhhhh)
- Buy genuine copies and activate your game in Steam at low prices (My wae)
1. Pirating Sims 4
This is the most easy to do if you don’t have a single buck in your wallet. You can basically go to any pirating site and download the expansions free of charge. So what are the pros and cons of this method?

Research has that in most countries piracy is illegal are China, USA, Russia, Portugal, Germany, Japan, UK and the list goes on.

So should you pirate it? That is up to you. If you know how to secure yourself and if it is not illegal then go for it. I personally do not recommend it because of the cons.

Yes, the copies are legal since it’s from official sites no questions asked.
The question is, who do these free giveaways? Look towards your best friends: Steam (pretty rare), Epic Store (once a blue moon), Origin (same as epic store).
Sometimes YouTubers and influencers might hand you a free copy but you know this is just a lottery method and you can grow grey hairs with the waiting.
So if that is not your game, then we go to method three which I often use and save tons of money.
3. Hidden Money Saver: CD Keys
Now I get a lot of questions about this. Is this illegal? Is this safe? Am i supporting creators?
Imma answer these questions once and for all here.
But yes for those who does not know what a CD key is, it’s a code where game publishers distribute and when activated on steam and other platforms, yes the game is in your library.
Is it Legal and Legit?
Yes hold your cute virtual pets because, first, yes it is legal not illegal. CD keys are legit and if you have activated a product before on steam then you would know.
If you haven’t, let me tell you if you find the right vendor and it is a good reputed site then you have no problems.
The origin of CD keys is debatable so I understand why gamers have these type of questions
Usually sellers get free keys to games from the publishers during promotional events, when the product gets launched and they resell it to others in genuine marketplaces.
Another reasoning is, these vendors monitor legit sites like Humble Bundle and buy them when they are on sale and resell it at a small profit.
And yes most definitely they are legit, otherwise these sellers would get flagged and they run out of business duh. They need a reputation otherwise no profit.

DO NOT buy from vendors who has below 4 or 5 stars. The stars equal to reputation so you know you gonna buy some legit products and they won’t scam you.

4, Complete your purchase.
Make sure to check activation instructions for the key, it could be activated on steam or origin and that is product specific.

5. Check for your CD Key in the site library
After the purchase is completed within a few minutes you will find the CD key in your SITE library sent to you by the vendor.

5.Go to Steam or Origin and activate the product.
You should get a message if the activation is successful. If you get a message saying that the code is already redeemed then that’s a rogue key! GO back to your Kinguin and G2A and pull a case. They usually give you a refund within 2-3 days.
Well yes sometimes, legit vendors provide already redeemed keys by mistake, if that’s the case they will issue a legit working key to you again.
